How to Take a Screenshot on the iPhone and iPad

Synopsis:

Would you like to record a screenshot of what’s currently being displayed on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch? Just follow these simple directions.

Let's Begin:

If you see something on the screen of your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch that you want to record, you can do so by taking a screenshot at any time. It’s really easy to do and is a good way to give you a record of what you see and capture it. This can be particularly useful if you want to record your high score in a game or if you see a bug in an application and want to take a screenshot to show the developer. Here’s how to capture a screenshot:

The take a screenshot of what’s currently displayed on your iPhone or iPad, just press both the top button (also known as the sleep/wakeup button which is also the power button) and the home button at the same time, and then release both buttons. If the screenshot was successfully taken, you’ll hear the shutter release sound effect from the device.

You can view the screenshot you just took immediately by going to the photos app and looking in the Camera Roll. The screenshot will appear as the last photo in the list. When you sync your phone or iPad with your computer, you’ll be able to download the screenshot just like any other photo you might have taken with the iPhone into either iPhoto or Aperture.

That’s all there is to it. This technique works at just about any time and at any point in any application. And since the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch all run the same OS, it works the same on all these devices.
